Is Going to Be Possible to Have More Than One Physician Assistant Job?
Right now there are just about 75 thousand jobs that available for physician assistants and this was in 2008. The demand for this health care profession is constantly increasing. It takes qualified and able people to be able to do these jobs, and these people are still going to be able to do more than one job at a time. To be more to the point, just about 15% of the amount of people who are professional PA work more than one job anyway.
There are many reasons why deciding to work more than one job as a physician assistant would be a good idea. These health care professions are extremely lucrative and they are always growing because of the fact that there is more technology and more new methods being introduced into these professions. Not all of these health care professions are going to be full time though. This is why its going to be very uncommon for PAs who are practicing to be able to work two positions at once, and it doesn't matter whether or not its going to be you working for one physician or two.
There are many other ways for a physician assistant to work more than one job though. IF the position is only a part time, then you can work on call for different physicians who are near you locally because this is definitely a good option for you. You could have a position that is part time and you can
then just go ahead and get part time work at a medical training center, maybe a private walk in clinic or even a public school.
You can have a part time position and work as a military physician assistant or as a reservist. The fact of the matter is that just about half of the jobs right now for physician assistant are all based in the offices of physicians' or walk in clinics. There are many other different positions that available right now for PAs in hospitals, specialty clinics, outpatient type centers, health organizations, government departments like the CDC, colleges and other private education institutions and there are also surgical units as well.
In organizations that are bigger some positions are going to be full time but its going to depend on how many patients are being cared for there. It really doesn't matter because as the demand for more PAs increases it may be harder to find more part time positions in which you'll be able to work more than one job at once.
