Three International Tips to Losing Weight

When it comes to diet we often always hear the same advice from friends and family, are bombarded by the same wisdom from local gurus and commercial entities. At times, it can sound like we're trapped in an echo chamber, hearing the same things over and over again, and yet somehow the obesity levels in America keep on creeping up. How are we supposed to lose weight when the problem doesn't seem to be solved here in the US? Well, let's take a look abroad, and see how everybody else in the world accomplishes weight loss, or even better what habits they may have that keep them slim to begin with. So read on, for in this article we're going to review three tips from abroad that can help you stay slender and slim!

The first tip is my favorite, and takes no effort on your part. One of the greatest problems that people face when trying to lose weight is their inability to eat slowly, and how they consequently they eat too much too soon, not giving their body time to signal that it's full. What can you do? Well, in Thailand they had lots of spices to make their food extra hot, and the natural consequence is that you have to eat slower due to the delicious burn in your mouth. Eating slowly will allow your stomach to figure out when its full, and stop your hunger from shoveling more food into your mouth. That and spicy food can ramp up your metabolism, helping you process your food a little quicker. Win win!

The second tip is to do as they do in Poland and eat at home more often than eating out. Did you know that Americans spend 37% of their food budget on eating out at restaurants? Whereas people in Poland spend about 5%, resulting in home cooked food as the staple of their diet, leading to good wholesome meals, full of nutrition and without as many chemicals and preservatives. Take a cue from Poland, folks.

Finally, maybe due to the War years, people in Britain tend to eat smaller portions, not loading up with extra heapings of food but rather serving themselves small amounts of their meal, they avoid piling on the calories by moderating the size of their portion. It's true that something this simple can really make a huge difference when it comes to your diet and lose weight.
