Surgical and Non-Surgical Fat Removals - What You Need to Know
Living in an age wherein skinny is supposedly sexy, it just makes sense how liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or fat modeling is the most performed cosmetic surgery procedure since 2004 where 90% of the patients are women, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
In the USA alone, 58 million are overweight while 40 million are obese. With 78% of Americans not being able to get the rightful amount of bodily activities, it is quite close to being impossible to lose the highly unnecessary and unhealthy fats hence even if weight loss diets or weight loss programs are literally everywhere, fat removals are proven to be wonderful options.
The Case of Fat Removals
As mentioned, fat removals or fat reduction procedures are wonderful options for people who want to lose weight but are not too keen on the exercising and series of weight loss programs. True enough, why should anyone make his or herself go through so much to figure out how to lose weight if there's an easier way out?
The Advantages of Fat Removals
Aside from the fact that it is less work, fat removals, both surgical and non-surgical, (these will be discussed shortly) most likely has the ability to target the unwanted fats compared to other weight loss programs wherein the person who undergoes a certain weight loss diet would drop down weight and lose fat even on parts wherein it is he or she does not want to. Also, fat removals are perfect options for those who are having problems on how to lose weight but can't be bothered with activity-filled weight loss programs because of their busy careers, schedules, among others.
Types of Fat Removals
There are two main types of fat removal procedures, the surgical and non-surgical. Each of course has its own advantages and disadvantages but people who wish to undergo either of the two should have their personal and viable reasons.
A. Non-surgical fat removal procedures
Non-surgical fat removal procedures in layman's term are procedures wherein patients do not go under the knife. Therefore, there are no operations, bleeding, stitching and the like. Non-surgical procedures are very suitable for people who want to have their unwanted fat taken but are scared of operations.
Types of Non-surgical fat removal procedures
1. Ultrasound fat reduction
This procedure is a new technology which basically uses extensive amounts of ultrasound frequency to burn fat slowly. This is quite effective and enough for those people who do not really have that much amount of fat that is needed to be taken away. Since it is non-evasive, the fats that were melted will be naturally flushed out of the body.
2. Topical Fat Attenuation
Although most of these topical creams or soaps that are out have no approved medical claims, they were the fad before ultrasound fat reduction was commercialized. If anything, these products do spend a lot on TV ads and testimonials. These topical fat reduction products are way cheaper than the ultrasound far reduction procedure.
3. Slimming pills
A 2006 survey by Women's Health showed that 1 out of 5 young women use diet pills. It is highly plausible that the diet pills intake of diet pills is rampant among young women can be explained by the availability of these pills especially in terms of their price.
B. Surgical fat removal procedures
Surgical fat removal procedures are known to be more permanent and to cost more. However, due to the fact that give more desirable results, people who want the best and have the money to spend opt for these.
Types of Surgical fat removal procedures
1. Liposuction
It is the most popular surgical procedure. It removes that fats that are very difficult to do so regardless of how much exercise one would do especially if they have been there for a long time. It is quite evasive that a week or few weeks of rest after the surgery is necessary.
2. Tummy tuck
It is second most popular cosmetic surgery procedure. It removes the unpleasant rolls around the waist. The result is not as visible as the liposuction. The patient is expected to stay a couple of nights after the procedure.
