Who is supposed to look after Dengue?
Being an impoverished state does not mean that health authorities should ignore public health or declare that they have more serious concerns to bother other than people safety in health. A third world country or being at the top of loan recipient list from authorities like IMF or World Bank does not give any excuse to health care providers to seek or justify with a reasonable answer to ignore public health safety.
We must remember that even in such a chaotic infrastructure where corruption is not the only problem and where inflation is ruling over our economy, we are far better than what developed countries likeBritainwas right after the Third world war. Despite their shattered economy and nation, one thing was still with them and that was hope, to build their wounded and devastated nation. So, amid the dust plumes and rubbles of the Warfare, they started with public health and took off.
Yes, we are better than whatEuropewas after war. We have doctors, nurses and paramedics at our ease. Most of all we have resources which they lacked. However what we lack that they had in those times is investigative units and health research departments. Our health care providers today are busy in looking after the dengue patients, but who is supposed to look after dengue? Every day when a bed in emergency ward gets vacant for a new dengue patient, dengue death count increases. It keeps on increasing and while grabbing some attention of the news media, it brings a lot of aid and sympathies for the dengue affected ones. It also shows how much we are concerned over general public health that each day we are counting the ones who are dead by this deadly epidemic, those who survive are blessed, whereas those who die have been chosen by death. Our news media, advertising campaigns and awareness programs are working good towards public safety but where is the research and investigating authority to fulfill civic responsibility? It is the responsibility of the health research authorities (I wonder if there are any) to conduct a comprehensive survey about dengue patients history, what they were up to just before being a victim and what were their eating activities?
It is easy to admit dengue patients in hospitals and allot them with some beds, even easier to see them going in the claws of death, but difficult to do proper research and take histories of dengue patients on a national level. In this respect I have analyzed a brief account of what to be done prior to perform research:
Eating Habits of Patients:
It is necessary to inquire about patient's eating habits, particularly one week before being a dengue victim. It is seen that dengue fever is caused due to frequent dine-outs. Therefore what must be done is to create awareness on a local level of lunching and dining only hygienically prepared home made fresh foods. Avoid eating junk as much as you can. In order to ward off dengue, vitamins and minerals work in boosting immunity.
Drinking Water:
The frequency of water intake and quality of water are two significant research questions that must be asked from every dengue patient. Despite the fact that dengue proliferates on clean water, tap water must not be used in drinking. Water must be boiled and kept covered!
Mosquito Repellants:
Patient's history of previous malaria must be analyzed and factors like how much time it took them to recover must be considered to have a useful insight about reaction to mosquito bites. Mosquito repellants must be used!

Hello world! I am Farzeela Faisal, a socio-political thinker, a philosopher, a humanist, a psychologist, a dream catcher, a spiritualist and a writer. I am sensitive, rather extremely sensitive to the global political world (and to the spiritual world too).
A soul who always remained pious to understand what the world misunderstands, through various bygone philosophies and humanitarian works, my quest for friends does not limit me, because I don't simply seek good souls, I seek friends! I seek light. Every time when a new friend is registered in my circle, a new hope of light gets illuminated, to spread the goodness of peace and love in the world.
A writer who is in urge to critique the contemporary unjust human extravaganza, a poet who is always seeking new tools for expression, and a philosopher who wish to experience simple, yet undiscovered ways of perception...
My friends say I am a healer... just a dream catcher, who love interpreting dreams. Say it with psychological therapeutics or metaphysicalities, I continuously love to seek pursuit beyond visions, cults, superstitions, ghost-catching phenomenal activities, and all sort of paranormal conduct.
