Health is such a delicate thing. When you're young, you feel invincible, full of energy and able to get away with almost any amount of sin. You can drink and party and eat and sleep and still look good the next day. Slowly however our metabolisms begin to slow down and we start having trouble bouncing back. We don't feel as spry the next day, able to down a huge meal and go right back at it. Before you know it you're in your thirties, and then out of nowhere you realize you're becoming middle aged, and have the belly to go with it. What happened? One minute you were a rakish twenty year old, the next you're a big daddy beer gut kind of guy, belt straining, wearing ever bigger jeans and not sure what went wrong. Well, if you're serious about losing weight then you might as well do it right the first time round. In today's article we're going to take a look at the science of fat loss, and help you get started on that road to slimness.
Now, everybody wants a secret answer, a silver bullet that will make their fat go away without having to really work for it. People basically want to cheat out of having to do any work, and folks, that way won't work. I know a bunch of people who took some hormonal secret formula and lost a ton of weight in three weeks, and then went right back and packed it back on. Why? Because they didn't form new and healthy habits. They cheated. No, what you have to do is pick a form of exercise and stick with it, day in, day out, and after six months you will be a healthy person. Does it matter if you go swimming, or cycling, or running, or lift weights? Not really. What matters is that you enjoy yourself, and do it forever, getting healthy and skinny in the process.
What about nutrition then? Do you need to get a PhD in order to learn all the bio chemistry that people think needs to be mastered in order to lose weight? Of course not. The basic fact is that in order to lose weight all you need to do is eat less calories than your body needs to maintain its body weight. Just be sure to eat more protein than less so that you don't lose lean body mass.About the Author
