P90X | Get Fit in 90 Days

P90X, also known as Power 90 extreme, is a 90 day workout program that aims to muscle tone and overall body fitness. It involves a series of exercises, a nutrition program, and a dietary supplement plan. The program promises to get the user in the best shape they'll ever be.

The 90 day workout program is detailed in a 12-set DVD. The DVDs show a step-by-step workout, with Tony Horton as the instructor. The first part of the program involves chest and back exercises (focuses on strength and definition workout with emphasis on two classic upper-body exercises). Plyometric is next on the list and this involves jumping cardio routines that are proven to significantly improve athletic performance.

The program then moves on to shoulder and arms exercises. Yoga X follows which is sure to challenge one's strength, balance, and flexibility while enhancing one's physique and calmness of mind. This is followed by legs and back exercises. Kenpo X is also incorporated into the program. Kenpo X is an intense cardio workout that involves kicking and punching and is said to develop endurance, coordination, and balance.

After Kenpo X, X stretch follows—to improve athleticism and prevent injuries and plateaus. Core Synergistics is next on the list; this is said to build and support muscles while conditioning the body. Chest, shoulders, and triceps exercises are next and are then followed by back and biceps trainings. Cardio X is also included in the program. The last part of the program is the Ab Ripper X; this part will sculpt your abs as well as improve your health and physical performance.

P90X, the 90-day workout, only requires a minimal space—a 6x6 feet area is enough. The program requires a set of dumbbells. You can also use lightweight resistance bands. A chin-up bar that can be fitted in a doorway is also needed. If you want, you can also include other workout equipment such as push-up stands, heart-rate monitor, and a yoga mat—these are optional, of course.

As mentioned earlier, the program doesn't just involve the 90-day workout—it also includes a 3-phase nutrition plan. The nutrition plan will detail what foods to eat and avoid—basically, what foods are best eaten to achieve optimum results. There are, however, people who claim to still get positive results, even without adhering to the nutrition plan.

The P90X 90 day workout is a great program. Many people have claimed its effectiveness. Demanding as this workout may be, it is great for those who really want to see results.
