Learn Just Why Drinking Water Filters Are A Must In This Day And Age

Groundwater contamination is now totally beyond our control, which is why everyone should invest in drinking water filters for their homes.  We could have prevented things from getting this bad if we had taken more steps to prevent this problem from growing; now we couldn't get our water clean over the span of our lifetimes even if we started today.

We are solely to blame for what we have done to our water supply.

For decades we have allowed chemical agents and pharmaceuticals to infiltrate our reservoir system, and in many cases we blatantly put them there.  Large scale industries are known for purposely dumping chemicals and out-of-date pharmaceuticals into our water supply.

Many chemical contaminants such as motor oil, gasoline, and cleaning products were introduced into the system by simple carelessness on the part of individuals.

There is estimated to be as many as 80,000 individual industrial chemicals, and an untold number of pharmaceuticals currently present in our water supply.

There are more than 10,000 documents available to you through the Freedom of Information Act that verify these numbers, if you think I am exaggerating.  Just the 2,100 carcinogens in our water supply alone should be enough to make anyone want to buy a drinking water filter.

And, chemical agents and pharmaceuticals are not the only health threats lurking in our reservoirs.  There are also naturally occurring toxic heavy metals constantly leaching into our water supply, which only compounds the well known problem we have with lead from old pipes entering our drinking water.

Toxins like lead, mercury, arsenic and others are dangerous at any levels, and serious consideration should be given to protecting yourself from ingesting these harmful substances.

Another reason people might want to consider drinking water filters for their home is the presence of parasites in our water that chlorine disinfection just can't kill.  These parasites are known as cysts, and ingesting them can lead to potentially serious gastric distress.

These parasites are terribly dangerous to older individuals, infants and small children, and those suffering from immuno-deficiency disorders.

By purchasing and installing the right home water purification system you and your family will no longer have to worry about the possible effects these contaminants are having on your health.

What you will need to look for is a dual cartridge filter system, which features three distinct filters for removing every category of contaminant.  These units are reasonably priced, and come in countertop and under-counter models.

This type of drinking water filter should come equipped with both activated granular carbon and an ion exchange, which will combine to remove chemical and pharmaceutical contaminants from your water.

The ion exchange will also dramatically reduce toxic heavy metals in the water, and will exchange these metals with healthy electrolytes.  A sub micron filter for the removal of parasitic cysts in the water rounds out your three necessary filters.

Drinking water filters  have become an absolute necessity in our lives.  Don't continue to put your health at risk by refusing to recognize our very real problem with drinking water contamination.
