CPAP Equipment
There is more to know about CPAP machines than you think. Each model and brand is not exactly the same so they require different treatment. While some of the equipment that comes with the machine is sturdier and will last longer, your lifestyle may require you to purchase disposable ones because of bacteria issues. This is just one example of many options to consider when choosing your machine.
Choosing a basic model may require you to add upgrades to it. The simplicity of the unit gives you room for additions that are custom to your needs. CPAP machines come in standard or automatic options. You can add things like humidifiers and extra data cards. You can upgrade your hose, mask and face straps too.
Depending on how severe your breathing disorder, the unit your complication requires will change. Do you travel a lot? You might want to look at some units with auto altitude adjustment. This will automatically change the pressure in the unit for you. You also can find a machine with a feature with software and data cards so you can record your breathing patterns. If you are a light sleeper, there are options for you to have the "quiet" option which just means that it works the same at a quieter level.
Sometimes the power supply can break because the wire gets old. Maybe you lose things a lot. They are easily replaced by ordering online. Cords, adapters and batteries can all be purchased separately.
CPAP machines need to be up-kept. You will need to wash the mask, straps and hose for sanitary reasons and so they last longer. The hose can be purchased as a reusable or disposable addition to your unit. The disposable ones are always clean so there is no risk of infection in your lungs or body. Also you will need to replace the filters often so bacteria and dust can't clog the filter bringing you sickness and a weak air flow. If you have smoke or pets in the area where you are using your CPAP machine then you will need to change it more often.
There are many different styles of filters too. You can find thicker ones or thinner ones as well as synthetic types. Depending on the machine, you might need a certain measurement of a filter. That doesn't mean you can't upgrade. There are so many possibilities with separate purchases.
